Caring For Patients Is Our Focus
The Suffolk Veterinary Group Veterinary Team is focused 100% on the medical needs of our patients. While your pet is hospitalized with us for a medical condition, our team does not need to be called away from treatments to walk boarders, make grooming appointments, or supervise play times.
Your pet gets a comfortable, quiet place to recover without being disturbed by the noise typical of boarding kennels and grooming salons, and they get a licensed professional dedicated to monitoring their recovery every step of the way.
We will never try to sell you anything, and you will not see retail displays in our hospital. Our Veterinary Team encourages clients to learn more about what we feel is in the best interest of your pet’s quality of life because we truly believe caring, not products, benefit your pet.
The Same Doctor Treats Your Pet All The Time
Dr. Winkler is the only Veterinarian we have at Suffolk Veterinary Group. Therefore, you know from the moment you schedule your pet’s appointment exactly which doctor they’re going to see!
No need to keep retelling your pet’s medical history to a different doctor at each visit, as Dr. Winkler follows every one of his patients’ medical needs personally.
We know you don’t have time for “Doctor Roulette.”
Our PetCare Team Are Professionals
A Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) is someone who has graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology Science from an AVMA accredited higher education program, has passed the rigorous Veterinary Technician National Exam, and has been awarded a license to practice veterinary technical services from the New York State Office of the Professions.
They are accountable to the same professional boards, and practice standards, as a Veterinarian. What this means is that your pet is being cared for by a dedicated patient advocate that will speak on your pet’s behalf about pain management, dental care, nutrition, behavior, and the quality of medicine practiced at Suffolk Veterinary Group. LVTs are in surgery monitoring anesthesia, performing diagnostic lab work, in the exam room to comfort patients during procedures, and are always available to answer questions you may have about your pet’s medical needs. At Suffolk Veterinary Group, we are proud of the educational and professional accomplishments of our Veterinary Team, and will always introduce those who have earned the distinction as Licensed Veterinary Technicians.
We Put State-Of-The-Art Technology In Reach
It is often the larger hospitals which can take advantage of technological advances in medical techniques before the community clinic, requiring patients to get referrals or travel out of their way to specialty facilities. At the Suffolk Veterinary Group, we always make our patients our first priority, so when we think of ways our practice can grow, we immediately think of the newest technologies and procedures that become available, such as laser surgery and laser therapy. We believe our patients deserve the better prognosis that new technologies have to offer. Our surgical laser reduces bleeding, swelling, and infection all so your pet can benefit from faster healing times. Our therapy laser is reducing pain and inflammation associated with everything from open wounds to arthritis so your pet can be comfortable and pain free.
A Dedication To Personalized Service
Our medical focus may be on our patients, but you have to schedule the appointment, need questions answered, and remember to pick-up your pet’s prescriptions.
At Suffolk Veterinary Group, we want to make these processes as easy and hassle free for you as possible. If there is any special consideration you and your pet need, let us know so we can fulfill all your service requirements promptly! You can also participate in our new newsletter for lots of pet-centric information, as well as join our Facebook Page to keep-in-touch with all the happenings of our clinic, and let us know how we’re doing in providing care and service for you and your pet. Do Not Hesitate To Call Us!!
An Online Pharmacy Partnership You Can Trust
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are constantly sending out public warnings regarding the legitimacy and safety of drugs being sold over the internet. We don’t want you to receive substandard, or even toxic, medications for your pet from some of these less-than-honest dealers. Since 2007, Suffolk Veterinary Group has been one of the first and longest animal hospitals in partnership Vets First Choice Online Pharmacy. To make sure you are getting the same standard of medication we would demand for our in-clinic pharmacy, we called our medical suppliers, and confirmed that Vets First Choice receives their medications directly from those same manufacturers, and not from third-party individuals. Vets First Choice Online Pharmacy allows us to provide you with all the benefits of an online pharmacy, such as home delivery, competitive pricing, special promotional discounts, and automatic refills without any doubt as to your pet’s safety.
We’re Part Of Your Family
All of us at Suffolk Veterinary Group have companion animals as part of our families, and many of us have children as well.
Children are a big part of our lives, and we welcome their visits to our clinic. Our lobby has a dedicated play area with plenty of toys, books, and coloring to entertain young humans while their furry friends get an exam by the Veterinarian.
Well behaved older children are welcomed into exam rooms to observe a Veterinarian at work, and to ask their own questions that we are more than happy to answer. Young adults contemplating a career in veterinary medicine are welcome to spend an observational day with us to see what a DVM or LVT actually does on the job. Children often spend more time with companion animals, on their level, than adults do, so we don’t like to discourage any input from them regarding a patient’s medical history, since it may very well provide a clue into an ailing pet’s diagnosis.
We’re Part Of Your Community
Suffolk Veterinary Group participates in a wide variety of internship programs to provide aspirating veterinary professionals the opportunity to meet their educational and career goals.
Dr. Winkler especially loves doing presentation at local Career Days for our public schools.
Organizers of special interest and youth groups are always welcome to call our clinic to set up special events with our Veterinary Team so that we can all be a source of inspiration and education for the greater good of our companion animals. You can host your event at our facility at no charge, or we can travel to you for speaking engagements.
Drop On By Any Time
You are always welcomed to consult with a Veterinary Team member, tour the clinic, visit a hospitalized patient, or find out more about us. We’re never too busy to spend time with you. If you leave not convinced that we’re the veterinary clinic for your pet’s medical needs, let us know, we’d love the opportunity to find ways to improve our services so that you’ll visit us again sometime in the future.
Your Opinion Matters To Us
We’re always looking for ways to improve our services, and respond in a timely manner to all our families’ concerns. Please, never hesitate to contact us and speak with our Veterinary Team about your expectations, and let us know if there is room for improvement with our hospital. If you have enjoyed our services, please leave a positive review on Yelp!, Google+, or any other review website you happen to find our business. Don’t ever hesitate to call us at 631-696-2400 and speak with Dr. Winkler or Ms. Winkler about your experience.
Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to tell you a bit more about ourselves and why we so proud of all the work we’ve done to make this the animal hospital your pet will want to visit.
