Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (SCSPCA)
The Suffolk County SPCA is responsible for the enforcement of animal cruelty laws in Suffolk County Long Island, and is a not-for-profit organization staffed primarily by volunteers. Unlike other rescue or shelter organizations, only the Suffolk County SPCA has the legal ability to prosecute suspects, or seize a pet in certain situations.
They are also the organization to which you can report suspected animal abuse, a pet left in a hot car, or to inspect situations of animal neglect, cruelty and fighting.
