The candidate for this position must provide proof of licensure in the State of New York. This position is heavily involved with client education, so candidate must be good at public speaking, enjoy creating positive interactions between clients and patients with our clinic, and well educated in preventative medicine protocols and products. Responsiblities include, but are not limited to: triage and history taking, working with DVMs during wellness examinations, generating “small talk” to further connect clients with our clinic so we can better understand and meet their needs, nutritional consultations, behavioral consultations, surgical and laboratory monitoring, and other duties as assigned. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Through our partnership with Suffolk County Community College, Suffolk Veterinary Group Animal Wellness and Laser Surgery Center is proud to offer students of the Veterinary Science Technology program opportunities to gain real world experience in what it is like for a Licensed Veterinary Technician on the job. Intern positions with Suffolk Veterinary Group are available during every SCCC semester they are offered. Responsiblities include, but are not limited to; assisting LVTs and DVMs with examination and treatment protocols, surgical and laboratory monitoring under LVT supervision, and generating a positive experience for our clients and patients at our clinic. Over the course of their internship, students will learn how to function in our team as any fully fledged LVT does. Our current Office Manager, and our LVT are graduates of the SCCC Veterinary Science Technology Program.
This position is heavily involved in providing our clients and patients with quality service and hospitality, so candidate must be a “people pleaser.” Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; greeting and escorting clients and patients into examination rooms, supervising the reception desk by answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, admitting and discharging patients, maintaining patient records, maintaining the cleanliness of lobby, exam rooms and grounds, assisting DVMs and LVTs with creating a positive clinic experience for both our clients and patients, and other duties as assigned. Some form of certification is preferred (BOCES, distant learning, etc.), experience is a plus, but we are willing to train individuals who have the right attitude for our clinic. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
As a participant in Eastern Suffolk BOCES job educational classes, you can get valuable experience towards your Veterinary Assistant Certification while interning at Suffolk Veterinary Group Animal Wellness and Laser Sugery Center. Interns participate in all aspects of clinic responsiblities.
This position is heavily involved in client communications and services, so candidate must have great public speaking skills and a clear, even voice easily understood on the telephone. Responsiblities include, but are not limited to; greeting all clients and patients, answering phones, answering client questions to the best of your ability, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, maintaining cleanliness of lobby, exam rooms and grounds, updating displays and literature in lobby, returning client phone calls, confirming patient procedures, and other duties as assigned. Experience with medical terminology a plus, but we are willing to train individuals who have the right attitude for our clinic. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
